Aaliyah Makhmad arrived in the UAE in 2000 with a singular creative intelligence — one that has spent the past quarter-century reshaping how the region experiences live performance, cultural ceremony, and immersive spectacle. She is the executive architect behind some of the Gulf's most technically ambitious and visually arresting productions.

Her work cannot be neatly categorised. She is a trained aerial acrobat and dancer who became a creative director. A costume architect who became a production engineer. A performer who became an institutional-scale cultural producer. This cross-domain mastery — body, design, technology, strategy — is the irreducible core of Liyah Creative.

In 2022, Dubai Culture and Arts Authority formally recognised her as a Creative Talent, awarding a 10-year Golden Visa — a sovereign acknowledgment of her contribution to the UAE's cultural identity. She operates through Liyah Creative, a full-service premium creative enterprise based in Downtown Dubai.
